Addressing waste reduction often requires creativity and thinking outside the box. This insightful and practical webinar, with Kelley Dennings and Malia Becker from the Center for Biological Diversity and Laura Gonzalez-Ospina from California State University, Sacramento, discussed methods for waste reduction that can lead to achieving goals beyond diversion metrics. This webinar showcased examples of how influencing behavior change, and the language, perceptions, and motivations around waste disposal can support waste reduction. Additionally, it highlighted programs focused on reuse and repair and create circular pathways for waste management. It showed how programs that do not solely focus on diversion metrics are invaluable to achieving broader zero waste goals.
