Engaging the Campus to Improve Recycling Participation

Originally took place on August 10, 2017

How do you get people to use recycling or compost bins? Even at schools with long established collection programs, recoverable materials all too often end up in the trash. This webinar will begin with an overview of student engagement campaigns, including the tactics Stanford University implemented to increase recycling and organics collection. Attendees will also learn about brand new research from Penn State University which demonstrates how knowledge of what happens to items when they are recycled can lead to increased recycling rates. Finally, Keep America Beautiful will share excerpts from their fall 2016 survey into recycling attitudes and behaviors specific to the Millennial generation.
