Campus Waste Reduction and Recycling Workshop
Sunday, October 27, 2019
Spokane Convention Center- Spokane, Washington- Room 207
8:30am- 4:30pm, the day before AASHE’s annual conference!
The annual CURC Workshop provides opportunities for attendees to network with Campus Recyclers from around the country, hear presentations from and interact with national experts, and participate in round table discussions on a wide range of campus waste reduction topics in preparation for AASHE’s 2019 Conference and Expo, “Co-Creating a Sustainable Economy.”
This workshop will include a mix of keynote presentations from recycling experts, case studies of collegiate waste reduction programs and panel discussions on a range of campus-related recycling, zero waste and sustainable materials management topics. Participants will have opportunities to network and learn from recycling and sustainability managers from schools across the country during extended round table discussions.
Taking into consideration comments and feedback from the 2018 Campus Recycling Workshop, CURC will be integrating additional interactive segments into the 2019 workshop. We will facilitate exercises that give hands on experience in critical waste reduction activities such as using waste audits as a tool to build your waste diversion program, using data to tell your program’s story, and others.
