CURC 2021 Workshop: Community Connections

September 30th 12-3 PM EST

CURC’s annual workshop will be centrally organized with a majority of the program online. This program will be a series of presentations on different ways we can collaborate with colleagues, our campus population and community organizations.
In this workshop, we will focus on four different themes:

  1. Essential worker support – The importance of service and custodial staff to recycling & sustainability planning
  2. Environmental justice- How higher education sustainability is connected to frontline communities of environmental impacts
  3. Working with community groups- Connecting with local non-profits and organizations to affect broad waste changes in and beyond the campus
  4. Connect with colleagues- Speaking on the importance of communication and mutual sharing of strategies and resources between different schools working toward zero waste
