RecycleMania is a  friendly competition among college and university designed to rally students and staff to recycle, compost and reduce waste in support of their campus’s efforts to outdo rivals schools.

Over an eight-week period each spring, schools compete to see which institution can reduce, reuse and collect the largest amount of recycling from their campuses. Schools report how much recycling, food organics and trash they collect on a weekly basis and are then featured in regularly updated rankings  in several categories.  Nearly 400 schools across the US and Canada competed in the 2015 program.
